EXPERIENCE
Chanel L. Oldham is Special Counsel at Ivie McNeill Wyatt Purcell & Diggs. Originally from Northern California, she moved to Los Angeles to attend college at UCLA where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree, double majoring in History and Political Science, with a minor in African American Studies. While attending UCLA she had the unique opportunity to assist a tenured professor with his research about the lasting effects of Apartheid in South Africa, an experience that culminated in meeting Nelson Mandela at his home in South Africa.
After graduating from UCLA, Ms. Oldham attend USC – Gould School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate degree. While attending USC – Gould School of Law, she spent several months in Jamaica where she clerked for the Supreme Court of Jamaica in Kingston, Jamaica. While clerking she, among other things, wrote legal opinions for the Parish Court Judges.
Ms. Oldham has significant transactional experience and regularly represents major developers, lenders and other Fortune 100 Companies. This work has allowed Ms. Oldham the opportunity to work with many different companies and teams globally. Ms. Oldham has extensive real estate and construction experience, including, but not limited to:

the negotiation and preparation of the financial documents necessary to start and complete various projects (including mezzanine financing) for both commercial and residential projects;
-
the negotiation and preparation of construction agreements, land use agreements, etc.;

the preparation of land purchase and sales agreements; and
-
the preparation and negotiation of large scale property purchases (i.e., large warehouses, skyscrapers) and sales agreements.
In addition to the above, Ms. Oldham also has experience negotiating and preparing contracts necessary for the operation and maintenance of both vacant land and real property (both pre and post-construction) including but not limited to, Master Services Agreement, Master Purchase Agreements; Field Engineering contracts, Design-Build work order contracts; Security Installation contracts, contracts related to the various local requirements in foreign jurisdictions, etc.
Ms. Oldham also works with clients to ensure their businesses are operating to the highest degree of success and negotiates and prepares various contractual documents including, but not limited to, vendor agreements, agreements with financing partners, merger and acquisition documents, direct streaming agreements; agreements regarding corporate formation and structure; agreements regarding corporate dissolution, employee guidance and handbooks, etc.
